Top10Vector – Hydrography is the data set of the Belgian hydrography. This data set includes six classes. First class: waterway kilometre markers of the Belgian navigable waterways. Second class: watercourse surfaces. Third class: watercourse segments. Fourth class: water points, which means points where the water arrives at the surface or disappears into the subsoil. Fifth class: wetlands, which means zones where the soil is saturated or regularly flooded. Sixth class: water surfaces. This data set can be bought via the corresponding hyperlink.

Top10Vector – High tension network is the vector data set of the high tension network in Belgium. It includes two classes. First class: high tension line segments. Second class: power pylons. This data set can be bought via the corresponding hyperlink.

AdminMap is the digital version of the administrative map. Two versions exist: the most complete one on the scale of 1:300 000 and a simplified version on the scale of 1:500 000. These maps show the different administrative units on the Belgian territory, from the federal State to the center of the districts for the 1:500 000. The map also shows the map grid of the National Geographic Institute. An index allows localizing the different units. The index also contains information on the linguistic statutes and on the postal codes.

This AtomFeed download service provides access to federal datasets that are not reported under the INSPIRE Directive. The datasets can be accessible for free or under conditions.

Top25Map is a digital version of the NGI’s topographic cartography on a scale of 1:25 000. These images result from the symbolisation of the objects and themes which are present in the topo-geographic inventory of the Belgian territory (ITGI), which is built and kept up-to-date by the NGI. Top25Map contains all usual themes of the NGI’s cartographic products (land use, transport, hydrography, buildings and constructions, relief,…), as well as the map lettering and the toponyms. The Top25Map cartography is appropriate to hiking.

Vector dataset of aeronautical obstacles with a height of 60 meters or more above the ground. The update of this dataset takes place on a multi-year cycle; for each obstacle and for each location, the situation is indicated as applicable at the time of its last update. Based on the horizontal range of an obstacle, it is classified into one of three classes: polygonal obstacle if the smallest rectangular area enclosing the obstacle has a length and width of more than 100 meters; line obstacle if the smallest rectangular area enclosing the obstacle has a length of more than 100 meters, but a width of less than 100 meters; point obstruction in other cases.

Top10Vector is Belgium's series of topographic vector data. The data set contains 37 feature classes, which are divided into eight themes (road network, railroad network, power grid, constructions, land use and vegetation, local relief and particular zones), all of which correspond to a so-pecific data set and can be obtained separately via the corresponding hyperlink.

Orthophotos are digital aerial photographs in which the systematic distortions caused by the central projection, terrain relief and an image acquisition axis that is not always perfectly vertical have been corrected. The national orthophoto coverage is renewed annually. This dataset always contains the most recent operational orthophoto mosaics for the entire territory of Belgium. When the most recent acquisition campaign does not provide full coverage, the dataset is composed of the last one or two campaigns. In the current version of the dataset, the most recent national orthophoto coverage consists of a combination of the 2023 and 2024 campaigns. The orthophotos have a spatial resolution of 25 cm in Wallonia and 12.5 cm in Flanders and the Brussels-Capital Region. The source data are supplied by the Belgian administrative Regions. NGI harmonises these regional datasets (geometrically and radiometrically) into a single national mosaic, georeferenced in Lambert 2008 (EPSG:3812) and tiled according to the MapIndex1 grid. The dataset is INSPIRE-compliant and can be downloaded as compressed JPEG2000 files (JP2) per MapIndex1 tile, with the corresponding world file (.j2w) and metadata describing the extent of the tiles.

The product is made of 6 "high resolution layers" covering all the Belgian territory as part of a European-wide coverage. The 6 layers concern 6 distinct themes: Imperviousness, Tree cover density, Forest type, Permanent grasslands, Wetlands and Permanent waterbodies. The 6 layers were produced by an automatic classification based on satellite images and collateral data and achieved by private companies (EEA service providers), and they were verified and enhanced by Belgium. At the Belgian level, verification and enhancements were made by AGIV for the northern part and SPW for the southern part. The NGI coordinated the project.
