  • MapIndex is a regular grid of rectangular or square cells coded with alphanumeric characters. It has been defined for the Belgian territory and allows geolacating several events. The present version is a beta (v2)version which is submitted to the emergency services. It will evolve to a standard cartographic grid.

  • This dataset corresponds to the dataset of address points on the Belgian territory. The result is obtained by merging the three regions on the basis of XML files which has been supplied to BOSA for the cooperation agreement BeStAddress. The dataset is freely downloadable.

  • This dataset contains the latest version of the borders of the Belgian postal codes, including the "special" postal codes (0612, 1049, 6099,…).

  • Administrative units corresponds to the dataset of administrative units from the reference database for the land register data. Administrative limits are legally defined by an administrative entity or between two administrative entities. In Belgium, administrative limits as legally defined are fixed and can only be changed by a law, ordinance or decree. The General Administration of Patrimonial Documentation of the FPS Finance is named by the federal authorities as the authentic source of Belgian administrative limits. This dataset corresponds to the legal situation as defined on January 1st of the reference year or to the situation at the specified date. It is composed of seven geometric classes (polygons and lines) and one class without geometry. The first class corresponds to the whole national territory. The second corresponds to the territory of the three regions, the third to the territory of the provinces, the fourth to the territory of the administrative districts, the fifth to the territory of the municipalities, the sixth to the territory of the Antwerp city districts and the seventh to the administrative boundaries in the form of lines. The class without geometry corresponds to the table of tax situations. The dataset can be freely downloaded as a zipped shapefiles.

  • Top10Vector – Particular zones is the vector dataset of portions of the Belgian territory having a particular attribution which makes them different from the objects in the other Top10Vector-themes. This dataset includes only one class which can be downloaded via the link in 'Access'.

  • The entities included in the dataset represent the Belgian rail transport network in the sense of the Inspire European directive. The dataset comprises several classes and is in accordance with the INSPIRE specifications. The RailLink class represents, in a linear manner, all of the rail links between each pair of dots for the network considered. The RailwayStationNode class represents occasionally all of the stations located along the network. In addition to this are two classes without geometry. The RailwatType class ranks the segments according to the type of rail transport for which they were designed. All the segments for this dataset belong to the train category. The "RailwaytElectrification" class lists the segments according to whether they are electrified or not.

  • The Royal Observatory of Belgium maintains several continuously observing GNSS tracking stations in Belgium. The stations are also belonging to EUREF Permanent Network (EPN) used to maintain the ETRS89 and the observation data are available to the public through https://doi.org/10.24414/FST8-P256.

  • The data set includes three types of breakdown: Cities, Larger Urban zones or Functional Urban areas. BE_StatisticsBelgium_SH_SU_UA_CITY presents in the form of polygons the borders of the Belgian cities participating to the Urban Audit of the European Commission. Some cities consist in only one municipality (LAU2) while the others are the result of the aggregation of several municipalities (LAU2). Several versions of the breakdown (2001, 2002, 2010, 2019) follow one another because over the years new cities have taken part in it. The files can be linked to the statistical data collected for the Urban Audit. BE_StatisticsBelgium_SH_SU_UA_LUZ and BE_StatisticsBelgium_SH_SU_UA_FUA present in the form of polygons the areas of influence of the Urban Audit cities on the surrounding municipalities. The initial concept of Larger Urban Zones (LUZ) was replaced by the concept of Functional Urban areas (FUA) to take into account the movement of workers to the Urban Audit cities. LUZ / FUA are an aggregation of municipalities (LAU2). Several versions of the breakdown (2001, 2002, 2010, 2019) follow one another because over the years new LUZ / FUA have appeared or have seen their extension modified. The files can be linked to the statistical data collected for the Urban Audit.

  • The data set presents in the form of polygons the breakdown of Belgium in almost 20,000 statistical sectors. The statistical sector is the basic territorial unit resulting from the subdivision of the territory of municipalities by STATBEL since 1970 for the dissemination of its statistics at a finer level than the municipal level. A statistical sector cannot extend over two municipalities and any point in the municipal territory is part of one and the same statistical sector. The 1970 and 1981 versions are shown in analogue format while the 2001, 2011, 2018, 2019 etc. versions are available in digital vector format. The files can be linked to the data on population, housing and disposable income on the website of Statbel.

  • The entities included in the dataset represent the Belgian road transport network in the sense of the Inspire European directive. The dataset comprises several classes. The RoadLink class represents, in a linear manner, all of the road links between each pair of dots for the network considered. The footpaths, cycle paths or carriageways that connect the pairs of dots correspond to as many entities in the class. The RoadServiceArea class represents the sections of space devoted to auxiliary road transport functions, such as service stations or rest areas. In addition to this are two classes without geometry. RoadWidth class describes in metres the width of each segment of the "road links" class. The "functional importance" class ranks the segments of the "road links" class by functional importance on the road transport network.
