  • This web service allows the visualization of altimetry data. More specifically, it allows to visualize the National Geographic Institute's digital terrain model and the contours associated with it. This service is compliant with the INSPIRE specifications.

  • The contour lines contain all the lines connecting points with the same elevation, in a model which is used for a cartographic representation of the relief.

  • The contour lines contain all lines which connect points which are situated on the same altitude, in a model which is used to represent the relief on a large scale.

  • The DTM is a homogeneous and regular point grid indicating the elevation of the ground level in order to make a model of its surface. The DTM is drawn up by interpolation (adaptable prediction) of raw altimetric data (contour lines, structure lines and spot heights).

  • The "Aeronautical Obstacle Evaluation Map for Belgium" allows to know whether advice is required for a construction or structure that, due to its height, may have an influence on aviation: if the planned construction or structure exceeds the height indicated on the map, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport should be requested for advice. The height indicated on the map is determined by the federal ministers responsible for Civil Aviation and Defence. This height is determined in order to protect the civil and military aerodromes, the visual aviation routes, the military aviation areas and the civil and military aeronautical installations for communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS). Consequently, the use of this map allows the application of the following Regulation : Regulation (EC) N° 1108/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 October 2009 amending Regulation (EC) No 216/2008 in the field of aerodromes, air traffic management and air navigation services and repealing Directive 2006/23/EC. In the Flemish Region the use of this chart allows the application of the article 35 §16 of “het besluit van de Vlaamse Regering van 27 november 2015 tot uitvoering van het decreet van 25 april 2014 betreffende de omgevingsvergunning”. The same data limited to the flemish Region are available on the Informatie Vlaanderen website.

  • Web service with currently available electronic data related to REGULATION (EU) No 73/2010 on aeronautical data quality requirements and Appendix 8 (Terrain and obstacle data requirements) of Annex 15 to the Chicago Convention.

  • CartoWeb.be is a Web Service (WMTS/WMS) containing cartographic representations covering 11 scale levels. CartoWeb.be offers a cartographic representation which has been developed specifically for on-screen viewing of the NGI’s most recent vector data sets. Three versions are available for the Belgian territory: 1) a TOPO layer containing a cartographic representation at all scales; 2) a GREY layer, which is the symbolisation in different shades of grey and blue of the TOPO layer. It constitutes an ideal map background; 3) an OVERLAY (1:2 500 - 1:25 000) layer destined to be used as an overlay on other data (orthophotographs for instance). This layer contains the symbolisation of a few layers only. A fourth layer, CROSSBORDER, is available in order to allow viewing (only on the smallest scales) the European context of Belgium. The extent of this representation is limited and could change in the following versions. It is best to combine the CROSSBORDER layer with the TOPO layer.
