Ces données constituent en effet un inventaire géographique de base du territoire belge et peuvent servir en tant que tel de base à une large gamme d'applications. Quand c'est possible, des codes externes d'identification thématique ont été associés à Top10Vector pour faciliter l'association avec d'autres séries de données. Top10Vector bevat de gegevens die in de eerste plaats gebruikt worden voor de aanmaak van topografische kaarten op schaal 1:10000 en 1:20000. Verplaatsing van gegevens of andere vormen van generalisatie voor deze cartografische toepassingen worden evenwel vermeden bij de productie van de vectordata. Deze gegevens vormen immers een geografische basisinventaris van het Belgische grondgebied en kunnen als dusdanig de basis vormen van een breed scala aan toepassingen. Waar mogelijk werden externe thematische identificatiecodes gekoppeld aan Top10Vector om de koppeling naar andere gegevenssets te vergemakkelijken. Top10Vector beinhaltet die Daten, die in erster Linie zur Ausarbeitung von topographischen Karten im Maβstab 1:10 000 und 1:20 000 benutzt werden. Die Datenverschiebung oder andere Generalisierungsarte für diese kartographischen Anwendungen sind aber unvermeidbar bei der Produktion von Vektordaten. Diese Daten bilden nämlich ein geographisches Basisinventar des Landesgebietes und können als solchen als Basis dienen für eine groβe Reihe Anwendungen. De geometrie van deze gegevens wordt in stereoscopie (3D) bijgewerkt op basis van recente luchtopnamen in kleur. Bovendien worden enkele topologische regels gecontroleerd die van toepassing zijn in de dataset. Vervolgens worden deze gegevens doorgegeven aan de terreinaanvulling die instaat voor de bijwerking van de attribuutgegevens.De bijwerking van de andere thema’s gebeurt d.m.v. interpretatie op orthofoto’s en terreinaanvulling. De geometrie en attribuutgegevens worden eerst in monoscopie (2D) bijgewerkt op basis van recente orthofoto’s. Nadien worden deze gegevens op het terrein gecontroleerd en vervolledigd.Bij de bijwerking van bepaalde thema’s werkt het NGI samen met andere organisaties (hergebruik van bestaande gegevens). Om zo goed mogelijk de bijwerkingstermijnen te respecteren wordt soms een beroep gedaan op uitbesteding. Bei der Aktualisierung dieses Datasets werden ein Zyklus von 1 Jahr für das Straβennetz, ein Zyklus von 3 Jahr für die Gebäude und ein Zyklus von 6 Jahr für alle anderen Themen gezielt. Die Aktualisierungsprozesse sind je nach Thema verschieden. Das Straβennetz und die Bauwerke werden über photogrammetrische Auswertung und topographische Ergänzung aktualisiert. Die Geometrie dieser Daten wird in Stereoskopie (3D) auf basis der rezenten Farbluftbilder. Weiter werden einige für den Dataset gültige topologische Regeln nachgeprüft. Dann werden diese Daten der topographischen Ergänzung weitergegeben, die sich mit der Aktualisierung der Attributendaten beschäftigt. Die Aktualisierung der anderen Themen setzt die Interpretation der Orthophotos und die topographische Ergänzung ein. Die Geometrie und die Attributendaten werden zuerst in Monoskopie (2D) auf Basis rezenter Orthophotos aktualisiert. Dann werden diese Daten topographisch nachgeprüft und ergänzt. Bei der Aktualisierung bestimmter Themen arbeitet das NGI mit anderen Organisationen (Weiterverwendung der vorhandenen Daten) zusammen. Manchmal wird auch ein Teil der Arbeit zugeliefert, damit die Aktualisierungstermine so gut wie möglich eingehalten werden.
