Le jeu de données POI de l’IGN a été initialement créé comme une base de données auxiliaire pour l’attribution d’attributs appropriées aux données topographiques de référence de l’IGN. Diverses sources ont été consultées. Après vérification et correction des données sources, des POI supplémentaires ont été ajouté De POI-dataset van het NGI werd origineel opgebouwd als hulpdatabank voor het toekennen van de juiste attributen aan de topografische referentiegegevens van het NGI. Er werden diverse bronnen geraadpleegd. En na controle en correctie van de brongegevens werden extra POIs toegevoegd via luchtfoto's of terreinwaarnemingen. Der POI-Datensatz vom NGI wurde ursprünglich als Hilfsdatenbank für die Zuweisung geeigneter Attribute zu den topografischen Referenzdaten vom NGI erstellt. Dazu wurden verschiedene Quellen herangezogen. Nach Überprüfung und Korrektur der Quelldaten wurden zusätzliche POI über Luftaufnahmen oder Geländebeobachtungen hinzugefügt.
